8. Edge deployment
Deploy a model to a device from the Models tab of Edge Fleet, confirm it by the device's report, roll back
Required permission: DeployOPERATOR · ADMIN Roll backADMIN
Models go to field devices (edge) from Edge Fleet (Edge Fleet) → device → Model (모델) tab. One deployment sends the device a pull_model command; once the device has pulled and activated the version and its heartbeat reports that model running, the deployment is confirmed.
Use an operator or admin account. The device must be registered in Edge Fleet (Edge Fleet) and running Edge SDK 0.5.0 or later (Edge SDK).
1) Deploy a model
- Open the device in Edge Fleet (Edge Fleet) and choose the Model (모델) tab. A No deployment (배포 없음) badge on the Deployment status (배포 현황) card means nothing was deployed to this device yet.
Models tab — ① deployment status (desired, running, confirmed) ② deploy and roll back ③ models on the device ④ deployment history - Press Deploy model (모델 배포) ②. Pick the model name and then the version from the model registry, and press Deployments (배포).
Deploy model — pick the model name, then the version, from the registry - A new row appears in Deployment history (배포 이력) as Queued (대기 중) and the badge reads Applying (적용 중). When the device fetches the command it becomes Delivered (전달됨); when it reports that it pulled and activated the version, Applied (적용됨); when the next heartbeat reports that version running, Confirmed (확인됨), and the badge reads In sync (일치).
Making another deployment to the same device cancels the one in progress as Superseded (대체됨).
2) Confirm
Nobody clicks a confirm button. The time the device's heartbeat first reported the desired model active is written in the confirmation (확인) field of Deployment status (배포 현황). A deployment that stays at Applied for long may mean the device could not load the model: check that version's state in Models on the device (장비 보유 모델) (Details (자세히) shows the error of a Load failed (로드 실패)) and the result on the Commands tab.
If someone switches the version on the device itself, or a different version comes up after a restart, the badge turns Drift (불일치). Reapply (다시 적용) deploys the desired model again.
3) Roll back
Revert (되돌리기) on Deployment status (배포 현황) (admin) creates a new deployment (kind Rollback (되돌리기)) of the model the device was running when the newest deployment was requested. If that model was pruned from the device cache, it is downloaded again. The full procedure is in Deploy a model to an edge device and roll it back.
